My Opinion and Experience with Prescription Drugs

Some prescription drugs may have their place as a temporary help to our bodies, but some should never be prescribed. Did you know that Cipro may weaken tendons? I mean, is this really common knowledge?

I found this out after I had surgery to re-attach a tendon in my ankle that had ruptured. There is an interesting article here: https://www.webmd.com/osteoarthritis/news/20080708/fda-warning-cipro-may-rupture-tendons

along with an FDA warning about this and other fluoroquinolones, drugs that contain a form of Flouride. Once I figured out that the Cipro I had been prescribed in the past may have caused my tendon rupture, it was years later and too late to do much about it.

Very troublesome indeed.

17 years ago, in the year 2000, I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I was bedridden for 3 months. The school where I worked had a sick leave bank and I was lucky to be paid for that time off, yet perplexed as to what may have caused my dilemma. I have later surmised that the 13 mercury fillings and the mold in the school were not a healthy combination for me. This began a long, long, journey back to health for me full of natural cures, prescription drugs, bedrest, anti- depressants, and countless hours of research. I found one doctor who told me I was just depressed. He said that most people do not stay on anti-depressants long enough for them to really work. He said I should take the drugs for a full year and then I would magically be cured. I followed his protocol, but I wasn't magically cured. Of course I was depressed! I wasn't well, and no one had been able to get to the bottom of it. I saw a family doctor, a neurologist, a pulmonary specialist, and an internist to name a few. I was put on many different prescriptions from there until around 2008 when I was on 13 different prescription pills. It seemed that each visit to my internist brought up a new symptom or side-effect that another prescription was suppose to help with. When I reflect on that time in my life, I am reminded of the actress Brittany Murphy who died at 32. She was also on 13 prescription pills, but she also had pneumonia and was taking other over-the-counter meds as well. A tragedy for sure. Right around this time, I was in constant pain and was then diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I could barely walk up and down one block by the time I moved to Florida to help care for my mom. I stopped taking all of the prescriptions, had all of the fillings in my mouth removed by a dentist who knows the protocol, and slowly worked my way back through food sensitivity testing, detoxing, visualizing, and prayer. I'm still to this day, not quite where I want to be, but I am bound and determined to get there. Finding what was at the root of my illness was like peeling back the layers of an onion and uncovering the key causes of my symptoms. I always think of the movie "Shrek" when he tells Donkey that ogres are like onions, they have layers.

I am so impressed with Naturopathic and Holistic Doctors who try and find out what causes discomfort and illness and go from there instead of masking symptoms. Our bodies talk to us. We need to learn to listen. Disease or "dis ease" is something off in our body that causes discomfort to us. If you give the body what it needs, the body will heal itself. Usually that's Non-GMO, organic whole foods, clean water, exercise, spiritual connection, and sunshine. Family, friends, and laughter aren't bad for ya either! Hopefully one day we will have Well Care supported by insurance in America as opposed to Sick Care.

I found out that nightshade vegetables can cause pain in the body, gluten can cause leaky gut, and a whole slew of other information that I had no idea about. If you are interested in learning some more tips for dealing with Fibromyalgia, I wrote a book that you can get on Kindle unlimited for Free. Just search Amazon Smile for "Fibromyalgia, What you don't know can hurt you." by Christy Moss. I hope it can help you or someone you know. When I cut out raw peppers, my pain subsided.

Did you know that Benadryl has been linked to an increased risk for Dementia? Here's a Harvard study on the topic: https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/common-anticholinergic-drugs-like-benadryl-linked-increased-dementia-risk-201501287667

Here are a couple of more articles.

As far as prescription medicines and even over-the-counter meds are concerned, you can see that many can be toxic to the body. Some people are better detoxifiers than others. God bless them. That is a good thing to be in this day and age. A good detoxifier. However, there are many who are not. We are like the yellow canaries in the coal mines. Coal miners took the birds with them to make sure they weren't inhaling toxic fumes. If the bird died, the coal miner evacuated the mine. I would not take a prescription drug unless it was for a temporary amount of time, if I could help it, and if it was absolutely necessary. You, of course, must do what you feel is best for you. I hope that I have enlightened you in some way, or helped you or someone you know by sharing my opinions and experiences.
